Making a project work
Could somebody point me to a useful resource about what it takes to transform a mineral discovery into a producing mine? I’m looking for something that covers both technical work and the business side. My cousin once showed me drill samples from a project everyone called exciting, but funding never arrived. It made me realize how many hurdles come after the first discovery.

I’ve found that the discovery is often the easiest part. After drilling, a project still needs resource definition, metallurgical testing, mine design, environmental studies, permits, infrastructure, a feasibility study, and serious financing. A friend worked on a promising copper prospect where the geology looked great, but power access and funding killed it. This profile on view the investor profile is also worth browsing for a real-world perspective on the business side.
